So here it is. Graduation Day. Usually, Inarizaki holds its ceremony outside. Sending the new alumni off into sunshine and fluttering cherry blossoms.
Tradition is nice. But one should still check the weather.
"This way," Kita calls. Holding an umbrella over a harried mother and toddler. He seems to be the only person who thought to bring one. Above the sky grumbles. Spits down more rain.
Once the family is escorted in, he hustles back to his fellow students. All trying to carry folding chairs into the gym. "Slow down," he soothes. Organizing them into a straighter line. "No one needs to fall. Ren? Can you help with the podium?"

May. 4th, 2021 02:54 pmAfter three days of rain, everyones at wit's end. Cold, footsore, bored to death. The twins are worst of all. Speaking in snarls instead of actual words. Kita's amazed they haven't fought. At this point, he'd almost welcome a few zombies. Just to burn everyone's energy.
Mud sucks hungrily at each step. Water finding every nook and cranny. Fires, when they stay lit, are sad and spluttering. Too weak to cook.

"There's a town ahead. With lodging and a blacksmith."
"Good," sighs Kita. Pulling his cloak tighter. "Lead the way. We all need a dry night."
"Yes, Captain."
The Black Foxes trudge on.

Still, Kita can't help thinking it as another of Ushijima's spikes slams down. Blowing his hair back.
"Damn it," snarls Atsumu. "That - "
"Atsumu," Kita frowns. If one Miya gets going, it sets off the other. They get distracted. Make mistakes. Get switched out. Inarizaki doesn't need a win. They need court time for their volatile First Years - Who haven't made it through one match without that happening.
Kita's been subbed in to try and keep things calm.
He crouches down.
"Just watch for the next one."
Atsumu grumbles, but copies the older player.
